So I've been slacking with this whole "ranking at the top of my name" thing. For a while this blog was sitting pretty on Google, and then WHAMMY! some other Jeanne Bright signed up at Classmates.com and now I've got competition. That, plus the fact that I have not updated in a while could mean that this blog's ranks could be slipping. I'm going to have some trouble competing against the longest running social network, but boy will I try!
As part of my job I have signed up for a number of e-mails through Media Post, which usually delivers relevant news about the media industry. Recently they sent one along about LookUpPage.com, which is similar to LinkedIn, except it does not promote itself as a social network. Instead, it uses SEO to try to ensure you (and the information you provide) get the top position on the SERP [search engine results page] for your name.
