Jeanne Bright!!!

Jun 10, 2008
Hey, I finally come up!
Embarassingly, my profile on InstantCast comes in first. Yes, InstantCast. You might be asking yourself, "Jeanne Bright (ding! another shot at ranking my name), I didn't know you were an aspiring model/actress?!?!" You, reader, would be right. Instead, I am an inspiring search engine marketer, and created a profile to understand more about one of my clients .... nine months ago. Now I don't remember the password to go in there and delete it, so I guess it will stay with me forever. Harumph. But hey, at least I have a "vibrant personality," right?
While you're here, you should check me out on LinkedIn: Jeanne Bright.

Computer Animation
This is a short story about a grasshopper who finds himself to become a hip hop violinist.
And this one is a lot quicker: I used an air hockey set-up to show dynamic movement:
Hope you like it...

Online Reputation Management for Individuals
I found this article to be pretty interesting - it outlines a number of ways that you can utilize your brand (your name) and make sure you are putting your best (internet) face forward. Check it out!
Learning more about the internet!
In order to "expand my horizons" on this new-fangled world wide web, I recently registered for a Web Design Basics class at Parson's School of Design. This week's assignment was to create a blog and post some schtuff on it - luckily I was slightly ahead of the curve by a month or so. And, by the way, shout out to my random classmates who will be checking this out on Saturday!
Anyway, by the end of the class I will be able to make a three-page website. Hopefully this website will be a place for me to showcase my work (limited artwork/photography/computer animation/SEM stuff?) and may help me get my name on the internet. In the last post I touched on the fact that I've set up a personal goal to SEO myself, and so far it's not going as well as I would have liked (although I haven't been rigorously working on it). This class slash website will get my name out there, and hopefully it will get to the point where I can work on some freelance SEO or SEM. A girl can dream, eh?

A little about me...
After six months, I guess I would consider myself well enough involved, and the proof is in the pudding:
SHAZAM! Yeah, that's right ... After knowing next to nothing, I can proudly say that I am one of the few, the proud - certified search engine marketing professionals.
One other purpose of this blog, besides recounting my tale of trying to live in New York City without becoming a jaded "New Yorker" is to get my name out there. Although I am not looking for another job, I realized how ridiculous it is that as a search engine optimizer, I had not yet search engine optimized myself.
When looking under my name "Jeanne Bright" or "Jeanne Kathryn Bright" (that right there should help me out, right Googs?), the results were dismal. So over the course of the next few weeks, I hope to get to the top position in Google for my name, maybe rep my hood on Google images ... you know, standard search engine optimization.
Don't worry, I will keep all of you dedicated readers (Hi, Mom!) in the loop as to how it's going.
